Why did I wake up today?
Sep. 23rd, 2004 07:14 pmI'm sure thats what one of my kids was thinking today.
When she came in today, she didn't want to play, or do a craft, or even really eat snack. she said she didn't feel so good; her leg hurt, and she had a headache.
I couldn't really do much for her, but while we were playing in the Gym, she asked if she could sit on my lap. She tends to be a little melodramatic, but I believed her when I felt her flinch every time a ball bounced on the floor, hurting her headache. there she sat, huddled miserably, nibbling on some popcorn she had been given. The owner of the popcorn had been running around like mad, but calmed down long enough to try and make the sick one feel better.
then, when it was time for crafts, I was still holding her, and she fell asleep. (she started both snoring *and* drooling all over me)At this time, 'Nene'came in. Now, for some reason, Nene is very possesive of me. She tends to throw a fit if I'm holding another girl. Today.... she was much better about it. Once she realized the other one was sick, she backed off, content to sit next to me and tell me about her day in Head Start.
I was just sitting down to chapel when I felt something very warm, all over me. Turns out she had just puked popcorn all over my chest and lap. The poor kid was miserable. When I went to find new clothes for both of us, she just curled up into a ball, and laid on the floor. thankfully, her aunt came and got her soon after that.
Then during lunch, I spilled applesauce all over my hand, slipped in milk, and was very ready to go home. ::sigh:: just another day here at the center......

Date: 2004-09-24 11:06 am (UTC)I've got a strong constitution, so I'm not really worried about getting sick if it *was* a virus. I'm more concerned about the kid.
