So... I got in my very first car accident today. >.<

I was driving back early from work, because they didn't need me. I was cold and turned on the heater, but leaning over to do that caused me to drift. I over-corrected myself into the cinderblock wall of the bridge. After screaming obcenites and scraping the minivan along the side of the overpass, I limped the car into the nearest driveway.

I was fine, the car is NOT. front passenger side corner is busted to hell, and the tire is totally shot.

Funny thing? the place I pulled into is a collision repair center. They were very helpful, and calming (probably thrilled that business had literally crashed into their lap) They also loaned me the use of a phone, because the battery on mine ran out in the middle of panicking at Mother. Mother came, police came, I got cited for driver inattention (like I didn't know that already) and insurance is covering everything.

All in all; mildly painful, really scary, totally humiliating, and I hope to never do it again.

::ducks:: believe me, I would be more than happy to spend the rest of my life with that never happening. -_-

Accidents are not fun. I'm just glad there was no one else involved.
