So fresh and so clean.

I spent most of today cleaning the house. not sure why, it just needed done. I guess I was sick of living in a stinky house.

So, on a whim, I swept, mopped, scrubbed the bathroom to an inch of its life, cleaned my room, and am now doing three loads of laundry.

Before all of this happened, I had an epiphany. I was out with Ardiel and Fudge, and she was freaking out about their wedding. Ariel's parents (being the neurotic people that they are) are driving Ariel insane. Her mom insists she invites all these people Ariel doesn't know to the wedding, insists they get a fancy reception hall, and then bitches about the money. They are being demanding when it comes to expectations, but then they don't want to help pay for it all. They aren't supporting her at all. Ariel was threatening to drop the whole thing and just have a justice of the peace sign the paper.

I realized that as much as I may personally not like Fudge... No one in Ariel's family has ever trusted her to make her own decisions about life. That's my job. so damn it, I am going to be as supportive as she needs me to be. Having seen a lot more of Fudge lately, I can honestly say that this is my impression of the man: he is one of the most frustraiting, MALE, snarky and sarcastic, loving, generous, helpful, and open handed men I have ever met. He genuinely cares about Ariel, and wants her to have the best of everything in the world. He is also increadibly clumsy when it comes to understanding female emotions. their marriage won't be easy, but it's what she wants, so I'm going to do my best to be sure that Ariel has the best wedding ever. She deserves to be happy, and has decided that Fudge is the best man to make her so. 'nuff said.

...Besides, Mother and 'Tousan are active in marriage ministry/enrichment/communication stuff. maybe they can help with the whole "Stupid about women" issues Fudge seems to have.

Long story involving the man in question interrupting my birthday party to throw a fit about Ariel not having her phone turned on, yell at her, then giving me 4 pans of homemade fudge, one of which he tells me not to eat, because it turned out nasty.

...

As Kit hates fudge, this was rubbing salt into a wound for her, and he has since been named fudge by the two of us.

Fudge is a lot better than he used to be, not nearly so insecure, and less likely to throw a fit about things. I still think he's kinda annoying, and he REALLY needs to learn to speak Girl (or at least know it exists) but... I'm slowly starting to see what it is in him that makes him worth Ariel fighting for him.
