!?

Friday evening was just about the scariest night I've had in a while. Long story short, my 15 year old girl cousin and my 'To-san got attacked downtown, My mother and my foster-sister/cousins (ages 6 and 7) were there and had to watch the whole thing. Mother saved my cousin by literially jumping on top of her, and the attackers left her alone after that; they focused their attentions on my aunt. (we guess it's because mother was the only white woman in the group, that she wasn't attacked as well. the attackers were all related to my aunt's ex-boyfriend)

Thankfully someone managed to call the police, and the most sevear damage was that my aunt strained her ankle. Everyone else is scraped and bruised except mother and the girls. They got out untouched.

I freaked out that the 3/4ths of my closest family could have been killed and I wouldn't have known, but Kit talked me down and helped me get it out of my system before they came home. ::luvs Kit:: Once they were all home, and obviously ok, I was fine, though I did go into UberMommy mode. ( Ion Heero has nothing on me) My cousin found herself fed and fussed over the minute she mentioned that she hadn't eaten all day. She didn't seem to mind, and I needed to be helpful somehow, so it worked.

Despite all of this, today was...normal. Waking up in a safe, stable environment had a calming influance on the girls and they were suprisingly cheerful all day. They both fell in love with the dogs we had thought they would be terrified of. It turns out, after the attack, they wanted a big huge dog to protect them. Dragonfly the German Shepard seemed to have been custom ordered for the reassuring of little girls.

All in all; it was scary and hopefully nothing like it will ever happen again, but everyone seems to have survived physically and mentally intact.

I'm not sure about the arrests thing, but the police had been warned that these people had been threatening my aunt, so they SHOULD have known this was going to happen. I'm not too clear on the details, since most of the people that were there don't want to talk about it. The people that do mention it are the girls, and they are more preoccupied with the fact that people's clothes were torn. I guess that was the only thing they could relate to in the whole fiasco. tearing clothes means getting in trouble.

::loves you more::

Grrrr just thinking about it makes me want to beat somebody up.
But I'm glad they're feeling better! I'd say the Dragonfly thing was some dammned good luck. ^___^
What about Erika, how's she doing? Ugh, what am I asking that for, knowing her she was probably seeminly back to her usual self before Tony was.
Keep at that mothering thing though.
I'll bet it's a full house there now huh? XD

I'm so glad for you that they're all okay. That sounds really, really scary. *hugs*

yeah, seems the girls were NOT HAPPY about having to go back home at the end of the weekend. Mother and Tony were quiet when they got back, since the last thing they really wanted was to leave our girls in that environment.

Needless to say, it's been a weird weekend.
