spring...break??
Mar. 17th, 2007 10:47 pmMy "break" has been thus: working, sick, sick of working, sick of being sick.
Monday was spent helping Sister and company move into the house "the Wizard" bought for them. As he will be living with them, he gets the master bedroom... but that can't take away from the fact that the house is REDICULOUSLY huge. 6 bedrooms, 5 bathrooms, a DOG BATH, 16 acres of wooded land, and mini water purification plant under the house kind of huge. it was... somewhat nausiating actually. I doubt I will ever go back. it's rather hard to be there and not get bitter.
Tuesday was my day off. I spent the day being lazy, then Ariel came over and we went hiking for a bit because it was so pretty. Flip-flop weather! Ariel had shorts on! ::sigh:: sadly it was too good to last.
Wednesday I went to one daycare and worked with mother and angie. I worked with the one year olds, gave my self a sore throat singing, and then helped organize the other daycare. Mother and I had a fun time organizing the rooms, and trying to make the centers as organized as possible. it's exciting to be working on something that is so close to opening. Mama's looking forward to teaching her pre-schoolers again too.
Thursday...I got sick. well...I sucumbed too the illness I had been fighting off all week. nothing quite like cramps, nausia, and a sore throat. I still worked, but I felt like I wasn't as useful as I could have been. I went home, planned for a half-day of work the next day, was visited by ariel, then slept like the dead. or at least the barely breathing.
Friday I felt better... but my sinus' decided that the cold all children had at the daycare was a GREAT idea. I worked a half day, then Ariel picked me up and we went looking at bride's maid's dresses. I tried some on...and it was decided that my body is an inconveniently middle shape that makes dresses hard to fit into. why they just can't make clothes in odd sizes I will never know.
I also have all sorts of tests and presentations next week, but I have done NO homework this week out of principle. it's my spring BREAK! even if I don't relax, I'm still taking a break from school work!
The perk has been that Aaron, my cat, has been freakishly cuddly this week. normally he will stay in my room for all of half an hour... but he's been sleeping all night with me, then grumbling when I woke up at 8.
