My friend has been fostering a greyhound at her house for the last week. He is a 3ish year old brindle named Spike. I loves him dearly and REALLY wish I had the housing to keep him.

But! She can't take him with her when she goes out of town for thanksgiving. (She has two dogs of her own) This means that Spike needed someplace to go. Mama and Tony are less than thrilled about having 6 animals in the house, (our 2 dogs and cat, my cousin's two cats, and Spike) but are being very understanding and letting me bring him home. Even if mother keeps both teasing me and a)telling me that I can't keep him, and b) calling him 'my new boyfriend' as I keep gushing about how sweet and wonderful a dog he is.

::sigh:: I know it will be harder after he gets a home, but at least this week I can pretend he is mine.

yup! It's super cool. >.> even if charlie is in love with him. Which wouldn't be so bad, but charlie wants to be seme. Sadly, he's not listening to my hints of mountain climbing.

I'd warn you not to get too attached, but I can see it's too late. *grin* Maybe this week you'll learn that he has a bad habit that will make it easier? O.o; *hugs* Have fun with him!

eh, I'm an old hand at volunteering with rescued animals. I've mastered the art of wanting without expectation of really getting. It'll be sad, but I'll be happy when he gets the awesome home he deserves.

Yeah, it's super cute watching them try to figure out how to play together.

Suzi is terrified whenever Spike is standing, but when he's laying down, he's as tall as her (seriously) and she wants to play again.

Charlie understands the way Spike plays, but thinks it's flirting, and keeps trying to jump up and hump him.

Spike just ends up leaned against me going "Why does no one play right, here?"
